Upholstery at Glencorse Community Centre – dependent on coronavirus developments
June 20 @ 11:00 am - 6:00 pm£95
This upholstery workshop is held in the wonderful centre created and run by the Glencorse Community Association
This upholstery workshop has a unique venue – in the beautifully restored and re-purposed 18th century stable block in Dalkeith Country Park. Learn how to upholster in a historic and lovely setting with a wonderful lunch provided.
All skills levels welcome
Bring a piece of furniture, your fabric and any final trimming, such as braid or nailstrip.
Before you come strip off all the old materials and fix any wobbly joints. Ideally, your frame should be made of “proper” wood because mdf and veneered wood can be difficult to work with
In one day you can complete a footstool, dining chair with drop in seat or piano stool
If you have a bigger project in mind – perhaps four days – just choose the dates that suit you best.
Any additional materials (eg webbing, hessian, calico, ) will be available for purchase during the course.
All catering, including lunch, provided.
Look at our website (upholsterachair.co.uk) and our Facebook page to get an idea of work previous students have achieved.
You are welcome to visit any course before you decide if upholstery is for you and we are always available to provide advice and discuss what you would like to achieve.
